Yippee!

Look what I got!!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My mitten package came today! Thank you to my Mitten Pal!!!
Look at all the great goodies I got!
First, I got a pair of mittens (of course), but look how awesome they are!!! (and they fit perfectly too!) Plus, a skein of beautiful handspun. (I know how much work goes into handspun and it is totally appreciated!) Three handmade stitch markers (gorgeous), A pair of super-soft-n-fluffy socks, Some moisturizer, A magnetic grocery list and pen (will put to good use for sure) and a bunch of delicious looking hot chocolate.
I'm so spoiled.
Thank you so very very much.

I just started mine!

Oh ..I am feeling pressure! LOL I just started my mittens for my partner. I bought the yarn last weekend and started them. My allergies have been bothering me so I haven't knitted much with week...but this weekend...knitting marathon. You ladies are so inspiring!

photos of my MIP (mitten in progress)

I hope my swap partner likes them. This yarn is great to work with.
With several of you sending your mittens out already, I had better spend my time knitting instead of blogging. Have a great day.

Almost Ready

My Mittens are complete and are currently blocking. Goodies are bought, except for one thing I'm still searching for. I think it will all be sent out by Monday! :-)

making progress now

I have been knitting like crazy despite some family issues that have taken up a lot of time, and things are looking good. Some people have already sent out the mittens, and I am not that far ahead, but I will have no trouble making the deadline and I am having fun.

I did have to frog (nothing new there!) and cast on again after I realized that I had made the cuff too big, but I like this yarn and the pattern enough that it didn't really bother me. Pretty soon I will be decreasing for the top of the first mitten and starting the second. While I do that knitting I will entertain myself by thinking about other goodies to include in my package. Photos soon - my friend is loaning her digital camera to me for a while.

Mittens & Lots of Goodies!

Oh my - Sabrina, you have outdone yourself! I love my mittens!!

Sabrina sent me a pair of gorgeous mittens (which I will get a better picture out here later this week - sorry, I was so excited to post that I only took a shot of everything together!), hot chocolate galore, custom made stitchmarkers, candles, candy and some cool soap that she says works really well on hand knit items.

Thank you so very much, Sabrina, I love everything!! The mittens are so pretty and they will be getting used soon, trust me, it's getting chilly here in Minnesota so it's perfect timing. :-)

Thanks again and have a wonderful evening!

Yarn chosen

OK, I have done my homework. I've studied my buddy's blog, read the archives, practically memorized the list of color preferences and have finally chosen the yarn. It's Zitron Life Style yarn in color 1863. Sorry, I don't know how to include a link to it. Everybody at my LYS thought it would be perfect after I told them something about my swap partner. I can't wait to get knitting! I might even cast on tonight! Linda
